Galentines Day

The other day was Valentines Day, so me and Aifric and Paige went to Cologne to do valentines day stuff:

Paige even made me my very own valentines day card

So our first stop was this bridge. It is extremely famous around here because of all of the locks, as you can see above and below. Couples can go to this bridge to lock their love. The locks are from decades and decades of couples and most of them have little messages on it. One of my favorites was something like "Uli and Michael Jackson forever" and although there are some joke ones, most of them are real couples.

You can buy these locks custom made all over Cologne.

After that we walked to the Lindt Chocolate museum to have a Galentines treat. I went here with my family in December when they came too, and I dont think that there exists a better hot chocolate anywhere in the world.

As we were walking back from the chocolate museum, they were setting up for Karneval, so we took a picture with a dirndl-clad beer woman

Then we went into the dom because both Aifric and Paige had never been in there. Somehow I feel like I could give a tour of that place with the amount of time I have spent there. I took this picture for dad because this was closed during advent so he couldnt see it open.

Maastricht

Willkommen zurueck Leute!! I almost forgot my password I havent been on here is so long. My exams went well, I got really good feedback from all of my lecturers. Got done with everything just in time for Karneval!! (Which you will definitely seeing on this blog over the next week).

Big news of Bonn is that we have new advertisements all over the city. David Beckham is alive and well in Bonn, that is for sure, and it helps waiting for the bus in the cold.

Speaking of cold, its been snowing the past couple of days in Bonn, here it is this morning from the top of my apartment.

As you can see from my blog title, I went to Maastricht last week, which is in the Netherlands. We actually misjudged the timing so much for how long it would take to get there that we didnt get to see a lot of the major tourist sites, but it is really close and cheap to get there, so it can be saved for a sunnier day.

Take that back, it was pretty sunny, but boy was it cold! 

Nice little cheese store!! We dont even have these in Germany (although I did have some Gouda on my sandwich today, courtesy of Aldi).

Like I said, unfortunately I havent much to describe of this day because we spent a total of about 6 hours in transit, so most of it looked more like this:

 aka completely unenthusiastic.
