Guest blog: #1

I am letting each member of my family have one guest blog, they will all answer the same questions at the beginning and then have been instructed that they can write as much or less as they would like afterwards:

Favorite Excursion  Aachen...very cool to see a cathedral from Charlemagne's time...almost no damage from WWII bombing.... 
Favorite Weihnachtsmarkt:  Siegburg....medieval theme....though all were great fun...
Favorite food:  the <<brot?? had been fantastic everywhere....
Favorite Dessert:  all
Favorite German Word: danke und bitte
Biggest Surprise about Germany/Europe:  the <<bicycle culture>>  it has been impressive to see people of all ages using bikes, and how bikes fit in to the car and pedestrian world

    Kevin, your pronunciation of AAAAchen is very good. Good "Achlaut" sound. How's the Ichlaut going? You do know that I was part of the bicycle culture 41 years ago there...Aachen to Schleiden und Monschau und danach nach der Mosel. Ready to get back onto the bike? See any golf courses? Essen Sie gut! Alles schmecken gut.
